First of all, let me say that my outlook for today was grim.
I woke up to see that I had slept through my alarm by approximately 20 minutes, and that I wouldn't have any time to shower before going to my new high school to enroll myself and my sister. The weather was gloomy; menacing gray clouds and water puddles set the mood for a melancholy day. I threw on some eyeliner, dress, and boots (not the best apparel for this kind of weather) and rushed out the door to the car.
We were probably at Summit High for 2 hours or so. The health office had a hard time finding Natalie's vaccination records, and scheduling the proper classes without our transcriptions wasn't the easiest thing to do. California graduation standards require that I take Algebra 2, and although I covered Algebra (and several other subjects) in the integrated math program, they would not recognize it as an Algebra 2 class. However, I am glad that my sister and I will have Spanish and choir together, at least until the end of this semester. I will be auditioning for Madrigals afterwards. The school is very well organized in my opinion, and I will (hopefully) find my way around with ease.
I still do not see myself blending in well with the student population, but there is nothing wrong with being unique (:
There are no lockers, so the students carry around backpacks and bags to each class (YES!!!). There is no "open lunch", however we are able to eat anywhere on campus. As for books....there are class sets and home sets (another score). It will be nice not having to lug around a huge pile of books back and forth to school. I am starting to stress less about attending this new high school.
As we left to pick up a bite to eat and buy some groceries, I still found myself to be in a somewhat sad mood (relieved, but not too happy). As we pulled into our neighborhood and checked the mail, I was disappointed to find that Margaux's wig and dress/bow outfit still had not arrived. I carried my books & groceries inside, and as I was about to go upstairs to look for my phone, I noticed a package sitting on the bottom of the staircase.
It was wrapped in a very cute paper, and was shipped from Taiwan. I completely forgot about my phone as I grabbed the package and plopped onto the couch. Within 2 minutes, my beautiful OOAK custom Blythe stood staring back at me in her original Frosty Frock box.

Isn't she gorgeous? ^__^
I gently removed her from her box and started combing through her gorgeous hair. I quickly familiarized myself with her pullstrings and fell in love with her eyechips. She has a gloomy bear pull string charm and a clear, pink unicorn pull string charm (both are so kawaii!!). Her estimated delivery date was anytime from Nov 10 - Nov 16, so I was very surprised to see that she had arrived so promptly. There was a sweet note from her customizer on the box as well, and I appreciate all of the work they have done! I have renamed her Lisbet ("Lease-Bay") from the name her customizer had given her (Mary Bird) and I have yet to decide on a last name. She may not even need one :3
Did I mention that the weather became beautiful, sunny, and warm? Lisbet and I decided to take advantage of it and had a quick, informal photo shoot in my back yard.

(Hopefully I'll be able to afford a better camera in the future. The one's I am interested in range in price from $500 to$ 1,500! No new camera for me anytime soon.)
Anyway, today has been better than I had initially thought it would be, and I am glad Lisbet is finally home. Tomorrow is my first official day of school, and I am pretty excited. I will keep you guys updated on how that is going, as well as Margaux's customization.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you'll visit my blog again sometime soon!
